System Requirements
The hardware requirements for Profitool vary according to the workload placed on it.
We recommend that clients consult with Profitool staff to determine the system
needs and to assist in designing the proper solution for each specific installation.
The following is the minimum hardware recommended for use with Profitool:
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or newer processor, running at 2.3GHz
- Memory: 2GB of RAM in a manufacturer-recommended configuration.
- Disk: 300GB of usable storage. Profitool strongly recommends a fail-safe RAID configuration for reliability.
- Network: 1 Ethernet controller
- Backup: a backup solution capable of storing incremental or full daily backups of a Linux-based system is required.
Software:
- Linux operating system: Profitool recommends Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6, and CentOS 5.
- Client web browser: Each client machine requires a web browser. Profitool supports Firefox (3.5 and newer), Internet Explorer (7, 8 and 9), and Chrome (10).
- Database: Profitool supports file-based storage as well as Oracle 11 and MySQL version 5.1+ relational databases.
